Dr Catherine DrysdaleBDS, FDS RCS (Eng), MSc (Lond)
Catherine is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. She has a special interest in the management of patients undergoing treatment for oral cancer and runs the implant programme to rehabilitate these patients. She also runs the treatment programme to rehabilitate patients born with a facial deformity.
Catherine graduated from Glasgow University. Following hospital posts in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Catherine completed the FDS RCS(Eng) in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. She then took an MSc in restorative dentistry at Guy’s Hospital while working as a lecturer and tutor at the Dental school.
She underwent training as a Senior Registrar in Restorative Dentistry in London, and became an accredited consultant in 1995, before moving to Taunton with her family in 1996. Catherine now runs her own specialist referral practice in Implant and Restorative Dentistry at Rumwell Hall Taunton.
Catherine continues to lecture widely on all matters related to Implant and Restorative Dentistry. Catherine acts as a Trustee on the Board of the Association of Dental Implantology, UK (ADI). She organizes and hosts the scientific regional study group in the South west for the ADI. Catherine has also been Chairman and Branch Secretary of the Western Counties BDA.
Catherine has recently launched mouthcareincancer.com – a website providing valuable information to patients undergoing treatment for cancer and how to avoid unwanted oral complications.
